It's seems like a negative review but it's not a bad film. It looks and sounds incredible ... It's a shame small things seem to have such a big impact on my experience but the structure of the plot itself didn't do any favours. There's never any escalating tension or build of dread and fear as the pace is fairly leisurely.

Overall, it's not a perfect film but it's about what you can expect from Bay and then maybe a little more. I'm glad he's recognised some downfalls of the last film and he's certainly improved on it.

This was definitely one of the best films i've seen in the cinema this year. Vaughn pretty much nailed it. The setting was a fantastic choice, if at times a bit reminiscent of [i]Watchmen[/i] but it suited the film and gave a great backdrop.

It's not the greatest film, perhaps at times a bit too crowded with side characters and the standard establishment of roots over threat but it's a fine blockbuster and probably better than it should be.

Shame we can't have a Dark Knight every year.

a strong entry into the horror franchise in a time that's far too pre-occupied with 'gorno' ... the blending of humour and horror without ever compromising the other is fantastic.

I'll quickly go to Simon Pegg who is perhaps most out of place in the film, especially considering his sentiments regarding the film mythos.

It's not an inherently 'bad' film but it is flawed in a lot of respects and considering what it could, and should have been- a classic stunt orientating adventure, it fails to deliver.

Overall, there's some nice kills, some smart direction, better than average characters and is kept simple and while this stops it descending into trash it also stops it being anything truly special.
